SWARM is a fast-paced, arcade-style grapple shooter, with quick sessions, bright colorful worlds and globally competitive leaderboards that will take you back to the glory days of arcade games.
Armed with just a grappling hook and your handy pistols, you’ll be plunged into a flow state as you grapple, shoot and battle your way to the heart of the SWARM before it’s too late. Twitch reactions won’t be enough to carry you through, you’ll need to think strategically and plan your next move to stay alive. Intense. Demanding. Exhilarating.
Did we mention hard?
There are some things that only work in VR, and I think this is one of them.
The swinging mechanics are incredibly well designed. Feels exhilarating. The aesthetic is delightfully clean and vibrant.
Just played for a solid hour, I already love this game.
Probably tied for my #1 favorite. Such a blast.
I personally love it. I found the grappling to be incredibly fluid and easy to pick up. It felt like Spider-Man meets Galaga.
I will most definitely be buying this when it comes out. And suggest it alongside my other favorites when people ask what to play.
These are the best grapple mechanics I've played on the Quest. They're intuitive and fast.
What SWARM accomplishes is utterly unique in the VR space—wickedly fast twisting, turning motion, delivered without a trace of VR sickness.
What if you combined the style of Borderlands, the movement of Spider-Man or Attack on Titan, and put them into a VR arcade shooter?
Swarm could very well represent a turning point in the VR arcade genre.
SWARM is the perfect mix of quick, accessible fun that suits jumping in for quick play sessions as much as it does settling in for much longer ones.
For $24.99 US, if you already enjoy VR, there is no reason not to pick it up, and I can’t wait to see what else Greensky Games have in store for this game or a sequel in the future.
SWARM is a really difficult, yet immensely rewarding VR game...it’s just overall incredibly fun to play for hours on end.
